About Benzaclin
Overview
BenzaClin is a gel applied to the skin to treat acne vulgaris. It contains two active ingredients: clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide. Clindamycin is an antibiotic.

Safety information
Side effects
Dry skin was the most frequently reported side effect in BenzaClin clinical trials, affecting 12% of patients. Other reported effects included reactions where the gel was applied, itching, peeling, redness and sunburn. Moisturizer use during the trials may have reduced the reported rate of dry skin. Serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and reactions requiring hospitalization, have been reported with clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide products. Seek urgent medical attention for a serious allergic reaction. The frequency of these reactions and whether the products caused them cannot be reliably established from these reports.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use BenzaClin if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or to lincomycin, or if you have a history of regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis or antibiotic-associated colitis.

Storage
Store below 25°C with the cap closed, away from direct light and heat. Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
