Before taking this medicine

Do not take Cialis if you use any form of organic nitrate, take a guanylate cyclase stimulator such as riociguat, or have had a serious allergic reaction to Cialis or Adcirca. Do not use Cialis if your cardiovascular condition makes sexual activity inadvisable. Cialis can lower blood pressure when taken with alpha-blockers, blood pressure medicines or substantial amounts of alcohol (5 or more units). Combining Cialis with alpha-blockers is not recommended for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH); caution is needed when using this combination for erectile dysfunction. Use requires caution if you are prone to prolonged erections or have a history of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), a condition associated with sudden vision loss. A “crowded” optic disc may also increase the risk of NAION. Seek emergency treatment for an erection lasting more than 4 hours. Stop Cialis and seek medical care for sudden vision loss in either eye, or prompt medical attention for a sudden decrease or loss of hearing. Cialis is not recommended in severe liver impairment. Liver or kidney impairment may require your prescriber to adjust treatment. Once-daily use is not recommended in severe kidney impairment or in people receiving hemodialysis. Before treatment, a medical assessment should check for underlying causes of erectile dysfunction or BPH. Other urinary conditions that can cause symptoms similar to BPH should also be considered.
