Livmarli

Before taking this medicine

Do not take Livmarli if you have or have previously had hepatic decompensation, a serious worsening of liver function, such as bleeding from enlarged veins (varices), fluid buildup in the abdomen (ascites), or impaired brain function due to liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy). Livmarli can cause liver injury. Liver tests are needed before treatment, frequently during the first 6 to 8 months, and as clinically indicated afterward. People with compensated cirrhosis need frequent monitoring. Treatment must be permanently stopped if hepatic decompensation occurs. Contact your prescriber if you develop persistent diarrhea or abdominal pain, or diarrhea with bloody stools, vomiting, dehydration requiring treatment, or fever. Treatment may need to be interrupted or stopped. Fat-soluble vitamin levels must be checked before and during treatment. Deficiencies may require supplements. Persistent or worsening deficiency, fractures, or bleeding may require treatment interruption or discontinuation. Children under 5 years need monitoring for propylene glycol toxicity. Their total daily intake of propylene glycol must be considered, and Livmarli must be stopped if toxicity is suspected.
