About Tylenol
Overview
Tylenol contains acetaminophen and is used for temporary relief of minor pain and fever. It relieves minor aches and pains due to the common cold, flu, headache, sore throat or toothache. It also temporarily reduces fever.

Side effects
Possible side effects of acetaminophen (paracetamol) include nausea and vomiting. Stop using Tylenol and seek urgent medical help for a skin rash, blistering or peeling skin, mouth sores, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing. These may be signs of a serious skin reaction or allergic reaction. Serious liver damage can occur, particularly after taking too much or combining medicines that contain acetaminophen or paracetamol. Warning signs include yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, persistent vomiting or upper abdominal pain. Seek medical help immediately if too much may have been taken, even if there are no symptoms. Contact a doctor promptly for unusual bruising or bleeding, which may indicate a rare blood disorder.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use Tylenol if you are allergic to paracetamol (also called acetaminophen) or any other ingredient in the product, or if you have severe liver disease. Seek medical advice before use if you have liver or kidney problems, regularly drink alcohol, or are malnourished. Check with a healthcare professional if you take warfarin, especially if you need Tylenol regularly. Do not use with other medicines containing paracetamol or acetaminophen, including some cold and flu remedies. Taking too much can cause serious liver damage. If an overdose is suspected, seek urgent medical help even if there are no symptoms.
Interactions
Tylenol contains paracetamol, also called acetaminophen. Do not combine it with other medicines containing the same ingredient, including some cold, flu, sleep and prescription pain medicines, as this can cause serious liver damage. Tell your doctor if you take warfarin or another coumarin anticoagulant. Regular, prolonged use of paracetamol may increase its blood-thinning effect and the risk of bleeding. Also mention medicines such as carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital or rifampicin, which may increase the risk of liver toxicity, and probenecid, which can slow paracetamol removal from the body. Alcohol, particularly heavy or regular drinking, can increase the risk of liver damage. Discuss alcohol use and all other medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements with your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, in the original blister until you take a dose, away from direct light and moisture. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
