About Bepreve
Overview
Bepreve is a prescription eye drop solution containing bepotastine besilate 1.5%. It is used to treat eye itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis. It works by blocking histamine at H1 receptors and reducing the release of histamine from mast cells.

Side effects
The most common side effect of Bepreve was a mild taste after using the eye drops, reported in about 25% of people in clinical trials. Eye irritation, headache, and inflammation of the nose and throat were reported in 2–5% of people. Allergic reactions have been reported rarely after Bepreve became available, including itching, a rash on the body, and swelling of the lips, tongue or throat. Contact a doctor if these occur. The exact frequency of these reactions and their relationship to Bepreve cannot be reliably established from these reports.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use Bepreve if you have had an allergic reaction to bepotastine or any other ingredient in the product. Bepreve should not be used to treat irritation caused by contact lenses. Remove contact lenses before using the drops, as soft lenses may absorb the preservative benzalkonium chloride. Wait at least 10 minutes before putting lenses back in. To avoid contamination, do not let the dropper tip touch your eyelids, the area around your eyes or any other surface.
Using Bepreve
Dosing
Dosing is set by your prescriber. Each health care professional may prescribe medication differently according to a patient's medical history and condition, so follow the directions on your prescription label and speak to your doctor or pharmacist before changing anything.
Storage
Store below 25°C away from direct light. Once opened, follow the in-use period printed on the pack and do not let the dropper touch the eye or any surface. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
