Dymista

Before taking this medicine

Do not use Dymista if you are allergic to azelastine hydrochloride, fluticasone propionate or any other ingredient. Allergic reactions have included anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction. Avoid use if you have recent nasal ulcers, nasal surgery or a nasal injury. Dymista can cause nosebleeds, nasal ulcers, a hole in the tissue separating the nostrils, delayed wound healing or Candida fungal infection. Periodic checks for these nasal effects are recommended. Tell your prescriber if you have: • Vision changes, a history of raised pressure in the eyes, glaucoma or cataracts. Close monitoring is needed. • Tuberculosis, a fungal, bacterial, viral or parasitic infection, or herpes simplex infection of the eye. These infections may worsen. Chickenpox or measles can be more serious or even fatal in susceptible people. Dymista can cause sleepiness. Avoid driving, operating machinery or other activities requiring full alertness. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that depress the central nervous system, as they may further reduce alertness. Excess corticosteroid effects and reduced adrenal gland function can occur, including with prescribed use in susceptible people. If these occur, withdrawal should be gradual under the prescriber’s direction. Children’s growth should be monitored regularly because Dymista may slow growth.
