About Alunbrig
Overview
Alunbrig contains brigatinib, a kinase inhibitor supplied as film-coated tablets. It treats adults with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, with ALK-positive status confirmed by an FDA-approved test. It works by blocking ALK activity and related signals that help cancer cells grow.

Safety information
Side effects
Common side effects of Alunbrig include diarrhea, tiredness, nausea, rash, cough, muscle pain, headache, high blood pressure, vomiting and shortness of breath. Contact your doctor promptly for new or worsening breathing symptoms, particularly during the first week of treatment, as these may indicate serious lung inflammation. Also report any changes in vision, muscle pain or weakness, or skin reactions after sun exposure. Other serious risks include high blood pressure, a slow heartbeat, increased creatine phosphokinase (CPK, a muscle enzyme), increased pancreatic enzymes, liver injury and high blood sugar. Regular blood pressure and heart rate checks and blood tests are needed to monitor for these problems. Alunbrig can also increase sensitivity to sunlight; limit sun exposure during treatment. Alunbrig can harm an unborn baby. If you could become pregnant, use effective contraception.

Before taking this medicine
The FDA label lists no formal contraindications for Alunbrig (brigatinib). However, it has important warnings and requires monitoring during treatment. Conditions requiring caution include lung inflammation, high blood pressure, a slow heart rate, vision changes, muscle pain or weakness with raised creatine phosphokinase (CPK), raised pancreatic enzymes, liver injury, high blood sugar and sensitivity to sunlight. Report new or worsening breathing symptoms promptly, especially during the first week, and tell your prescriber about any vision changes. Limit sun exposure. Your healthcare team should monitor blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar, liver function, CPK and pancreatic enzymes. Severe liver or kidney impairment requires a dose adjustment by your prescriber. Alunbrig can harm an unborn baby. Females who could become pregnant should use effective contraception. Do not breastfeed during treatment.
Interactions
Avoid taking Alunbrig with medicines that strongly or moderately inhibit or induce CYP3A. These medicines can interact with Alunbrig. Ask your doctor to check for these interactions before starting another medicine. If taking them together cannot be avoided, your prescriber may need to adjust your Alunbrig dose.

Storage
