About Gemtesa
Overview
Gemtesa is a prescription tablet containing vibegron, a beta-3 adrenergic agonist. It treats overactive bladder in adults, with symptoms such as a sudden need to urinate, frequent urination, and leakage associated with that sudden need. This includes adult men taking medicine for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by relaxing the bladder muscle as the bladder fills, allowing it to hold more urine.
What it treats

Safety information
Side effects
Common side effects include headache, urinary tract infection, inflammation of the nose and throat, diarrhea, nausea, and upper respiratory tract infection. Serious side effects include urinary retention (difficulty or inability to empty the bladder) and angioedema (swelling of the face or throat). Contact a doctor promptly if you develop difficulty emptying your bladder; Gemtesa should be stopped if urinary retention occurs. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face or throat. The risk of urinary retention may be higher if you have a blockage at the bladder outlet or take muscarinic antagonist medicines for overactive bladder.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not take Gemtesa if you have had an allergic reaction to vibegron or any of its ingredients. Angioedema (swelling of the face or throat) has been reported. Gemtesa requires caution and monitoring for urinary retention (difficulty emptying the bladder), especially if you have a blockage at the bladder outlet or take muscarinic antagonist medicines for overactive bladder. Stop taking Gemtesa if urinary retention develops. Gemtesa is not recommended for people with end-stage kidney disease, whether or not they receive haemodialysis, or severe liver impairment. Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.
Interactions
Gemtesa can increase digoxin levels in the blood. Tell your doctor if you take digoxin. Your doctor should check your digoxin levels before you start Gemtesa, during treatment and after Gemtesa is stopped, and may adjust your digoxin dose based on the results.

Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, in the original pack, away from direct light and moisture. Do not keep it in a bathroom. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
