About Ilevro
Overview
Ilevro is a sterile eye drop suspension containing nepafenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) prodrug. It is used to treat pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery. In the eye, nepafenac is converted to amfenac; both are thought to block an enzyme needed to make prostaglandins.

Side effects
The most common side effects, reported in 5% to 10% of patients in clinical studies, were clouding of the lens capsule, reduced vision, a feeling that something is in the eye, increased pressure inside the eye, and a sticky sensation in the eye. Contact your doctor if you experience reduced vision or other concerning eye changes. Serious risks include increased bleeding time, delayed healing, and problems affecting the cornea, including inflammation called keratitis.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use Ilevro if you have a known allergy to nepafenac, any other ingredient in the medicine, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Caution is needed because Ilevro may prolong bleeding by interfering with platelet clumping, delay healing, and cause corneal problems, including keratitis (inflammation of the cornea).
Using Ilevro
Dosing
Dosing is set by your prescriber. Each health care professional may prescribe medication differently according to a patient's medical history and condition, so follow the directions on your prescription label and speak to your doctor or pharmacist before changing anything.
Storage
Store below 25°C away from direct light. Once opened, follow the in-use period printed on the pack and do not let the dropper touch the eye or any surface. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
