About Zaroxolyn
Overview
Zaroxolyn is a prescription tablet containing metolazone, a diuretic (water pill). It treats salt and water retention associated with congestive heart failure or kidney disease. It is also used to treat high blood pressure, alone or with other types of blood pressure medicine. It works by helping the body remove excess salt and water.
What it treats
- Salt and water retention (edema) associated with congestive heart failure. - Salt and water retention associated with kidney disease, including nephrotic syndrome and reduced kidney function. - High blood pressure, alone or with blood pressure medicines from a different drug class.

Before taking this medicine
Do not take Zaroxolyn (metolazone) if you cannot produce urine (anuria), are in a coma or pre-coma state due to liver disease, or have a known allergy to metolazone.

Dosing
